Honeymoon Day 6: Dallas, TX

If you love Southern cookin’ or if you’re a diner aficionado, this is the place for you.  Mama’s Daughter’s Diner in Dallas, Texas is the perfect road-trip stop. We had country-fried steak, hash browns, grits, and biscuits with gravy.  Just heavenly.

The walls are filled with “Mama Said…” sayings, like “eat your peas and get dessert!” I’m eying the fried coconut pie.  That’s right…FRIED. In fact, I only ate ONE biscuit, thinking I would save room and calories for pie…but the waitress tells me they’re out.  I was quite devastated…I felt like someone stole candy right out of my hands.  On the bright side, I got a glimpse into what I will look like in oh, 30 or 40 years maybe…look carefully in the background and you’ll see it.

Oh yes, here she is.  The future me – it’s uncanny, really. I bet she’s hell on wheels.
